Becky and her husband, Stanley, live in the Swift Creek Community in Raleigh and attend Hope Community Church. They have two beautiful daughters and son-in-loves and three adorable granddaughters. Becky loves being a wife, a mom and especially a “Nana/ Nannie”! Family time is a favorite of hers each week.
She also finds joy in serving the Lord at the Mission House in Apex alongside her compassionate Mabopane Family of Volunteers. And always looks forward to time spent, once or twice per year in South Africa with her extended Ya Bana Family. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, cooking, gardening, and reading. And, you’ll find her fishing with her wonderful husband the 3rd weekend of each month.
Pat and her husband Jeff live in New Hill North Carolina and are members of Green Level Baptist Church. Their many mission trips have had them travel the world sharing the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Having donated to the Mabopane Mission for 15+ years, Pat was humbled when asked to serve on the board. With a heart for children, she strongly believes in the call that God has issued to the Mabopane Mission. Pat works in the software industry and leads a team of amazing people on the service and support side of the business. With a passion for crafting and building, Pat will “attempt” to make stuff she likes (with a “little” help from Jeff 😉).
Both she and Jeff love all things NC State but above all, they love spending time with their family.
Marjorie has been involved with the Mabopane Foundation and served on the board from 2016 until 2022. Marjorie continues to serve the foundation as Treasurer. She is a transplant from Pennsylvania but built her life in Raleigh, with her husband Bruce, after graduating from NC State University.
Marjorie is an avid reader and genealogist; having traced her Scottish family to the 18th century.
Mike and his wife, Sylvia, live in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and are members of Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church. They were first introduced to the Mabopane Foundation in 2020 and have enjoyed taking active roles in the work of the foundation and volunteering. They have two beautiful children, Sean and Kaci, who follow Christ and attend UNC Charlotte and Fuquay-Varina High School, respectively.
With a passion for technology, Mike works in the information security industry leading efforts to develop automation technologies and security services. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, boating, walking their two rescue dogs, Cooper and Lucky, and inshore and offshore fishing. Having attended ECU and UNCW, Mike and Sylvia cheer for the Pirates and the Seahawks as well as the Carolina Hurricanes.
Sarah and her husband Richard live in Durham, North Carolina and attend Green Level Baptist Church. They were introduced to the Mabopane Foundation in 2020 and fell in love with the work that the Foundation does. Sarah loves serving at the mission house and is excited to serve in a new capacity on the board.
Both Sarah and Richard enjoy hiking, camping, and all things outdoors.
Geoff and his wife, Jennifer, live in Cary, North Carolina and are members of Green Level Baptist Church. They were first introduced to the Mabopane Foundation through fundraising activities at their church. Geoff and Jennifer, with their 5 school-aged children, moved to Cary from Washington state in 2019. Geoff is excited to serve on the board after witnessing the passion the Mabopane Foundation volunteers have for the children they serve across the world.
In addition to assisting with kids’ homework and attending school events, Geoff also enjoys anything outdoors from frisbee to pickleball to landscaping and gardening. Geoff works as a software engineer in the financial industry where his joy of technical problem solving is put to good use.
David and his wife Vasanthi are from Southern India and have lived in Apex since 2017 with their two daughters and son. They are members of Green Level Baptist Church in Cary, NC and were first introduced to the Mabopane Foundation in fall 2021 through the church's youth group volunteer activities. David and Vasanthi have a heart for missions and strongly believe in Mabopane's mission of changing lives by sharing God's love and hope.
David works in data and analytics for a health insurance company and enjoys biking, playing badminton and playing brain games in his spare time. Vasanthi works as a Registered Nurse. They both enjoy serving together on the Audio/Visual team at church. David joined the Board of Directors in 2022.
Daniel and his wife Caroline are from Southern India and have lived in the triangle area since 1997. They were first introduced to the Mabopane foundation during early 2020. What they have since observed has made them passionate about the work of the foundation. Caroline has volunteered at the mission house.
Daniel works in the software industry and is enthusiastic about the
use of technology to better lives. Caroline teaches Sunday School at church and is also a volunteer teacher with the Cary Tamil School. Caroline and Daniel live in Cary with their two daughters, son, two spunky Lhasa Apsos and two parakeets. They attend International Community Church in Apex, NC. Daniel joined the Board of Directors in 2021.
